NODAWAY REN INVASION A SUCCES
"The Nodaway Renaissance Invasion held in southwest Iowa on Saturday, September 18th was a sucess. So much of one that the Corn Carnival committee has asked us to come back next year and will help with the funding to provide more acts. About 50-60 rennies showd in garb. The Ministry of Petty Offenses was a huge draw with their stocks."

I had no clue what to expect from these guys since I'd never encountered them before, but they had the mundanes rolling from the time they showed up until the time they decided it was time to pack up. "For being a small town event, I have to say one thing. I saw more people enjoying themselves this year than I have the past 8 or so... I have to say though, the ones who stole the show had to be the Ministry of Petty Offenses. For being an act I had never heard of or seen before, these guys came in and had everyone rolling. They even did a show during the talent show and I gotta say this, they had that tent nearly packed. Any group that can get the entire audience including my mom, dad and grandma to stand up and do a silly little dance deserves a huge HUZZAH. The stocks they brought were a huge hit too. I can't wait to see you guys at the area faires in the upcoming years."

"...the Ministry of Petty Offenses were funny as hell. When I wasn't doing other things I'd just sit back a ways and watch the Ministry to their thing. They entertained me for hours because even though they weren't on a stage they played off patron interaction to give what they do a nice variety that kept me giggling evilly to myself for the entire day."

NEBRASKA REN FAIRE RECAP

"Kudos and loud Huzzah's to Captain Stephen Douglas who we met and admired at the 2004 Iowa Renaissance Festival. Captain Douglas played fabulously with all of Have Court, Will Travel and impressed this Queen... for which we knighted him. Seriously, this pirate captured much attention and garnered much admiration for his ability to stay in character, roll with whaterver came his direction in the way of improv and for being totally open to playing with every village character from the highest to the lowliest..."

"I agree, their group is EXCELLENT. You wouldn't believe how many people ask me about them and ask if they'll be in Nodaway in September... heck, I even have people offering to donate money to bring them back (which I think I might take them on the offer!)"

"I saw them for the first time this past Saturday in Nodaway, and had a pretty good time doing it, too. As Joe Bob Briggs would say, "Foolscap says check 'em out."

"I continue to be much impressed with the skills of the Ministry of Petty Offenses. Their delivery is sharp, loud, and crisp -- something most of us will always be trying to achieve. Numerous strong coordinated 'gags' (and the great running gags -- "Family show!") push them above the top as one of the best acts going in our area right now."
